Current development status of the farms
The farms in my development version are slowly getting finished.
Some help texts are still missing and not everything has been tested through yet...but things are moving on towards a new update.
Cattle & Meat (meat is mandatory for aristocrats in the cities):
- Place a colonist on a grass square and let him breed cattle.
- Bring the cattle to a city by wagons or ships, build a butcher there. The butcher will produce meat from the cattle.
Wine (demanded as a luxury good by aristocrats in the cities):
- Colonists can harvest grapes from the bonus fields.
- Build a wine press and place a colonist there and he will produce wine from the grapes.
Horses:
- Horses can now only be bred on farms.
- Build a horse pasture or stable and place tamed horses there.
- Provided there is wheat in the storehouse or cultivated on the farm, the horses will breed.
- Their number increases steadily in the storage until a number of 50 horses is reached. These are then automatically created as a new horse unit and can be used for scouts and dragoons.
- Horses from the storage can also be transported by wagon or ship and unloaded in other towns or farms. However, it is not possible to use them with units as long as their number is below 50 horses.
- If several wagons unload horses in a town or farm and this increases the number of horses in the storage to over 50, a new horse unit is automatically created.
- Sounds more complicated now than it is 😉
