Bugfix Update - May 2024
Settle the World - Bugfix Update - May 2024
The bugfix update is finished and is recommended for everyone who is still playing on the April 2024 version.
In addition to fixing bugs, the movement system of units has been reworked.
Units can now move a little more, and the player should now receive the message about too few movement points much less frequently.
Furthermore, Settle the World can now be played completely in the German language.
This also lays the technical basis for additional translations into other languages.
Of course, the game still contains bugs or features that do not yet work properly.
Settle the World is far from finished...but with this bugfix update it is much more playable than ever before.
I would be very happy to receive feedback from players about this update. The amount of work involved in creating this update was really enormous.
Changelog:
Changes:
- Almost all ingame texts have been translated into german. The game is therefore completely playable in the german language.
- Natives no longer block city squares as long as relations with the tribe are reasonably good
- Natives no longer block roads as long as relations with the tribe are reasonably good
- Movement system for units reworked. If units still have some movement points left after their turns, they can now usually reach the next square and no longer have to wait until the next turn. It's unrealistic, but it speeds up the gameplay considerably and is more fun.
- Mouse-over on the city production preview now shows the current production at the top of the screen
- When switching to magnifying glass mode, the selected unit is deselected
- Colonists can now become master potters by working in the relevant production building
- Colonists can now become master saltboilers by working in the relevant production building
- Colonists can now become master butchers by working in the relevant production building.
- Colonists in the squares around a farm can now become experts in cattle breeding as a result of their work
- Colonists in the squares around a farm can now become experts in grape picking as a result of their work
- Colonists in the squares around a city can now become experts in planting coffee beans as a result of their work
- Colonists in the squares around a city can now become experts in collecting salt as a result of their work
- Colonists in the squares around a city can now become experts in cutting clay as a result of their work
- Experienced pioneers did not work as fast as they could.
- Basic pioneers (the grey-coloured ones) can now become experienced pioneers (the brown-coloured ones) through hard work
- Short sound effect when the player enters an native village or meets a tribe for the first time
Bugfixes:
- Bugfix: No native land could be purchased on farms
- Bugfix: Incorrect info texts on the city production window
- Bugfix: Large ships could anchor in places without docks if they had previously passed other ships.
- Bugfix: Enemy units could be revealed with the magnifying glass, even though they were not visible to the player
- Bugfix: The government screen had a graphic error the first time it was called up
- Typos corrected
- Dozens of other bugfixes that cannot all be listed here.
